In many countries, people wear more western-style clothes(suits and jeans) than their traditional clothes. Why? Is it a positive or negative development?

Clothing has become one of the most visible signs of globalisation, with suits, jeans and other Western-style clothes replacing traditional dress in many everyday settings. This shift is driven by practicality, work culture and global media, and I see it as a mixed but slightly negative development when it weakens cultural diversity and local craftsmanship.
